Housing Tip of the Week - Avoiding Tax Sale

Baltimore's tax sale is scheduled for May 20th. Our office will be sending letters and knocking on doors of residents who still are listed on the tax sale rolls. If you are on the list, please contact us immediately so we can help. It may be an error, which we can help with. We have several resources available to help.

Homeowner’s Property Tax Credit: The deadline for that program is October, so it will help you for next year’s taxes and if you are over 70 years old can be retroactive. It is best to apply by April 15th when you do your taxes. https://dat.maryland.gov/realproperty/Pages/Homeowners'-Property-Tax-Credit-Program.aspx

We are hoping Mayor Scott will remove Homeowners from tax sale like he did these past three years. We do not know if that will be the case this year, so it is important for you to please contact us immediately.
