Housing Tip of the Week - Licensed rentals
This week's Housing Tip of the Week is about making sure that the property you are living in, or the one you are looking to rent, are properly licensed. Baltimore City has a rental licensing law to make sure that rental apartments and homes are in good condition and following all building and environmental codes. We want to make sure renters are living in good conditions. You can look up whether the property you are living in is licensed or the one you are looking for is licensed here.
If the property is not licensed, please contact 311 for an inspection and please notify your councilmember so that we can help you through this process. At times, there may be an error, or the landlord is going through the process. Other times the landlord is refusing to comply or there is another issue. There is more information here.
