District 14 Town Hall - Black History Month
We had a great history lesson during our District 14 Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, Feb 23rd. Dr. Ida Jones from Morgan State University and Dr. Joann Robinson (known as our local historian here in District 14). We talked about Grandison Hoe - the namesake for Hoe’s Heights; Victorine Q Adams - the first African American woman in the Baltimore City Council (she served with Senator Mikulski and Councilwoman Clarke); School House Garden located on the Waverly Commons lot near the Waverly Market; and Gertrude Williams - legendary principal of Barclay School. Check out the video on you tube here.
