Hearing on the implementation of Baltimore’s Municipal ID Program

In 2016, the Baltimore City Council passed a bill to establish Baltimore City’s Municipal Identification Program. The purpose of having a Municipal ID is to provide an official Identification card for people who can’t get state ID’s. Many of the people who are in this positions includes people who are experiencing homelessness, formerly incarcerated, immigrants, young adults, and LGBTQ+. Since the passing of the bill, the program has not been implemented. Councilwoman Ramos introduced a resolution to have a hearing regarding what were the obstacles for implementation and the timeline of implementation.
