Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month During Our City Council Meetings

From September 15 to October 15, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. It is a time celebrate our culture and recognize the contributions our Hispanic community has made to our society. As the first Hispanic elected official in Baltimore, I am proud to represent our strong and growing community. We are highlighting organizations/groups who serve community during the three City Council meetings occurring this month.

On September 16th, Father Adrian Roelly of Sacred Heart of Jesus started our meeting with a prayer in Spanish. On this day, we also had Guillermo Brown to talk about the radio program Fiesta Musical on WEAA 88.9FM and his work as an educator in Archbishop Borders School.

On September 30th, we had Executive Director, Leonor Blum and Program Coordinator, Maura Romo to share about Adelante Latina.

On October 7th, we will have Lucia Islas to talk about her work with Comité Latino.
