Housing Tip of the Week: Be Aware of VBNs on fully rehabbed homes

A few months ago, our office partnered with the Department of Housing and Community Development to launch an awareness campaign to educate potential homebuyers and title companies about Vacant Building Notices (VBN) on fully rehabbed homes.

I introduced bill 21-0078, which has been signed into law by Mayor Scott, which requires sellers to disclose if a property has a VBN on it. However, this is still not happening. Homebuyers are still discovering VBNs after purchasing the property.
