This week's Housing Tip of the Week is a reminder about the importance of homeowner's insurance. While homes with mortgages are required to have insurance, older adults who have paid the mortgage off, and families who inherited homes may not have insurance, but you should. homeowner's insurance is really important incase of a fire, or if you want to make renovations to your home, especially if they are paid for by the City. Shopping around for insurance is really important. If the carriers will not provide insurance, the Joint Insurance Association is available to help.
