Redevelopment of the old Waverly Middle School
On Tuesday morning, the Ways and Means Committee holds a hearing regarding a bill to authorize the sale of 707 E 34th Street, known as the Venable building in Waverly, to a developer who will create 28 apartments for teachers and educators. This is the result of many, many years of negotiations and proposals, and Waverly is finally getting something in that vacant school. The adjacent portable building is part of the foot print and will be demolished to make way for a green space and parking. Testimony can be submitted here, or can be oral at City Hall or online.
