April is Fair Housing Month
April marks the 53rd Anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act - ensuring that individuals and families can live where they want without discrimination. While we have come a long way, there is still work to do in terms of fair lending, enforcement of fair housing practices, and more.
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is commemorating with a special program on April 7th at 2pm. Click here for Secretary Marcia Fudge's message and information about this program.
Baltimore City's Office of Equity and Civil Rights is celebrating through art. Starting today (April 5th) through the end of the month, there will be art on display at 2100 Liberty Heights Avenue as well as literature, poetry and art online. Click here for the details.
I'm honored to continue my work in fair housing in my new role as your City Councilwoman. We all must work for justice in Housing.
